Tips for Before the Procedure
Make arrangements for a friend or relative to drive you home. Because your procedure will be brief, your escort should wait for you during the procedure or be just a few minutes away. Please limit the number of persons accompanying you to 1, as this makes for a less crowded environment.
Call you doctor’s office if you have questions about your preparation, the use of medication prior to the procedure, or if you need to reschedule. Relax and try not to worry. Everyone is a bit anxious before hand. You are likely to find the procedure much easier than you anticipate.

Tips for the Day of your Procedure
Leave all jewelry and other valuables at home.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing to make changing clothes easy.

Check in at the reception desk 45 minutes before your procedure is scheduled to begin.

Bring your insurance card or be prepared to pay in advance.

Bring your medications or a list of your medications and how often you take them.

Please tell us if you have any allergies, especially an allergy to latex.
Tell us if you have a pacemaker, defibrillator, artificial heart valve or artificial joint.

Tips for After your Procedure
The average recovery time is 30 to 45 minutes after you procedure is completed.
The results or your procedure will be explained to you (and to your escort, if you like).

Written instructions regarding your care at home, diet, rest, medication and activity will be supplied before you leave.

Your escort should be available to take you home immediately after you are discharged by the recovery nurses. You may take a taxi only if you don’t have an escort.

It's best if someone could stay with you or check on you after you return home.

If you have any questions or problems after you leave the center,
please contact your physician’s office.

Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is an alternative location for your procedure.
